Click above to view maps of DOC land in New Zealand. This is an excellent planning tool for identifying public areas. Confirm with your local DOC branch about hunting access, as not all public land is accessible for hunting.
NOTE: Once the map opens, you need to activate the DOC land layer. Do this by going to the top left tab where it says SEARCH and type in "DOC LAND".
A little thumbnail with a NZ map should appear in the left tab with "DOC Public Conservation Land (Jan 2010)" written next to it. Click ADD.
Click on the above link to access DOC's online GIS map tool which illustrates all standard 260 series topo maps across New Zealand. Again, this is an excellent planning tool for hunting in New Zealand.
Click on the above link to view the Graf Boys current, up-to-date blog on 1080. Here the Graf Boys continue to lobby against the indiscriminate use of toxic poison's in our very own "100%, clean, green" New Zealand. Get behind their cause by providing them support, feedback, and/or joining their blog and voting against the use of 1080 in New Zealand.
Support the Graf Boys with their anti 1080 campaigns to help protect our environment. Ironically DOC is poisoning our own environment in an attempt to rid introduced species, but in actual fact, we are at risk of killing the very things we are trying to protect. The DVD "Poisoning Paradise - Ecocide New Zealand" is incredibly powerful and worth watching. It truley makes you re-think wildlife mangement practices in NZ.

Check out Matt Winter's photography world of nature, animals, birds and New Zealand's wonderful outdoor environments. Matt's been involved with New Zealand's "Great Outdoors" since a young age, showing a passionate and active interest in flyfishing, whitewater kayaking, freedive spearfishing, big game hunting, game bird hunting and much much more.
Support the anti 1080 movement to save our New Zealand forests, native birds, insects, and bats against primary and secondary poisoning from indiscriminant aerial dumps of 1080. There are plenty of economically viable options (like contracting out ground control operations) for controlling possums, stoats, and rats that are safer, healthier and more environmentally sound options for protecting our forests, people, and animals within. People have the power to make a difference by supporting the enufisenuf cause. Start by clicking on the above link.
The Fiordland Wapiti Foundation is an excellent, living example of game management in New Zealand. The Wap Foundation's principles towards game management not only benefit the distinctly unique Wapiti (Elk) deer that were gifted to NZ Acclimatisation Societies from North America, but the programme also sets out to work in line with conservation objectives set by DoC, as well as providing legendary hunting opportunities to recreational hunters through a balloted system. The Wap Foundation has done and continues to do a stirling job of managing our wonderfully unique piece of turf in Fiordland / South Westland, New Zealand.
